SCEM Programme

Background

The Government is introducing minimum energy management requirements for large industrial energy users that consume more than 15 GWh of energy each year from 2013. This includes the appointment of energy managers, reporting of energy use and submission of energy efficiency improvement plans for large energy users.

Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) Programme

The SCEM programme is a formal training and certification system for Energy Managers in Singapore. The programme will help participants to develop the technical skills and competencies needed to manage energy services within their organisations. For more information on the SCEM Programme, please refer to the E2 Singapore website.

SCEM Training Grant

NEA is promoting the training of energy managers to support the impending introduction of the minimum energy management requirements and to develop the energy management capabilities of companies. To support the training needs, NEA offers an attractive grant that substantially covers the SCEM training cost. Qualifying candidates need only pay S$900 (S$963 with GST) upfront for the full 144-hour professional level SCEM Programme, which consists of 4 core and 2 elective modules.

Candidates who sign up for the full professional level SCEM Programme are eligible for the Training Grant, if they:

  • are Singaporeans or Permanent Residents;
  • have a relevant degree in engineering or science; and
  • have at least 1 year of relevant engineering experience after obtaining the relevant engineering or science degree.

Enrolment in the SCEM Programme

We invite your organisation to send suitable energy or engineering professionals to enrol in the SCEM Programme.

Applicants can make enquires or register directly with the Registered Training Providers. Application for the SCEM Training Grant should be made via the Registered Training Providers. For more details on the course dates and application procedures, please refer to the respective Registered Training Providers:
